I recently sat down and talked to Coach Lamar Bigby, the 16U Head Coach of the Las Vegas Knicks.  One of the premier teams on the west coast, they will have big expectations going into next AAU basketball season with the talent they have coming back. They finished the season as a honorable mention in the Indihoops 16U rankings after being as high as 18 during the season.  Here is Coach Lamar's thoughts on the last season.

1. What are the philosophies of your program?

To develop players as athletes and as young men.

    2. How do you feel july went for your program?

July was excellent for program.  We got to play in some high level tournaments and kids started receiving offers. I believe July put our team on the national map.

3. Best game team played this year?

Man I have a couple but ill say the Iowa Barnstomers game due to the atmosphere and the level the game was being played at.

4. Who was the toughest team you played this year?

We had some wars with the Las Vegas Prospects and Gamepoint. It’s either one of those because we played each other a lot and got a familiarity with them due to the amount of times we played.

 5. Who are the key players and x-factor?

Key players are Nate Grimes, Darrian Traylor, Deon Whiteside and Coby Myles.  X-factor is Braxton Richards.

   6. How do you feel about the possibilities for next year?

I feel next year's team will be a new chapter for the Las Vegas Knicks.  We have areas to improve and the coaching staff's job is to sure up those areas. Our goals are to take it to another level next year.
