Delaware Elite is a diverse non-profit organization committed to the development of local student athletes. Operating in the heart of Wilmington, our model combines after school educational enrichment, leadership opportunities, and ongoing character development, with an elite Spring/Summer AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) travel team. Delaware Elite currently services over 60 youth members, many of whom come from underserved populations, and lack the basic socio-economic resources that would allow for upward mobility in life. By providing positive role models, regular physical activity, and constructive extracurricular endeavors, Delaware Elite empowers each student athlete to take charge of their own future, and become agents of change within their respective community. Because we believe in a holistic, “It takes a village to raise a child” approach, Delaware Elite also places great emphasis on its board members, staff, volunteers, and—most importantly—parents, to become positive role models within the organization and the community alike.
Mission
To provide a haven for selected elite student athletes in Delaware, helping to develop a foundation of character by providing an outstanding leadership program, educational guidance system, impartial volunteerism and exceptional sports programs that will allow the beneficiaries the opportunity to excel in life.
