Our Vision

Our objective is to be valued by the Fredericksburg and surrounding communities. We will generate an incredible presence in sports by engaging in a strategic plan of operations for years to come. We will provide a platform for youth to participate in sports, while helping them become better student-athletes and overall better human beings. Research shows that a greater opportunity for sports participation exists among children who grow up in middle and upper class families where resources enable adults to sponsor, organize, and administer programs for children (Ponessa, 1992). We simply want to meet the needs of our local youth regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, ability, and/or religious preferences. What will help lead us to success will be the sponsorship and partnership from our local communities.

Our Mission Statement The Fredericksburg Heat Basketball Program understands the importance of sportsmanship and community stewardship. The Fredericksburg Heat Basketball Program has provided each of it’s current team members with great support throughout their academic and athletic endeavors. We began to see the importance of fundamental development in sports as well as in the classroom. Therefore, we created a Developmental Session as a way to give back and say "thanks" as well as introducing a new idea to make our community even stronger. Although the area has limited year round basketball programs participating with the youth in our community, we find it an opportunity to excel our youth in becoming better basketball players and overall great student athletes. We all would like to see each participate emerge as great student athletes therefore rather than focusing on just talent and skills, the Fredericksburg Heat Basketball Program emphasis are on hard work, improvement, and building character. Too many times we have seen kids enter programs with the feelings of the pressure to "win" instead of the drive to make themselves better. In addition, to teaching and enhancing the fundamental skills of basketball involving shooting, passing, rebounding, and defense, we will teach each child the importance of CAPE: *Confidence *Attitude *Participation *Effort
