In 2008, Pastor Sanford Silver of New Hope Baptist Church founded the NHB Ballers, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting athletic excellence in the area of basketball, and promoting the appreciation of team sports amongst our youth within the area community. The NHB Ballers organization is important to our community because it provides leadership opportunities for middle and high school students that are essential both to the community and to its present and future businesses. Our organization is dedicated to training the area’s young, providing minimal cost to those who are in financial need while outreaching to the community with tournaments open to the public. The team is supported in part by the private and corporate sector of the community and by our own fundraising efforts. The team’s goals are to travel to AAU and non AAU tournaments each year including the AAU state regional with the goal to qualify for nationals.
