Each year, Coach Steve Reece and the E1T1 program have a very talented team on the floor. From winning Peach Jam two years ago, to finishing runner up last summer, they always seem to be in the mix at the highest level. We have had the opportunity to see E1T1’s 16u team on a few different occasions this summer and walked away impressed each time.
Point Guards
2018 PG Nick Honor of Lake Highland Prep has played very well each time we have watched him. He is lights out from the three, and has a very good handle and feel for a young guard. He is one of those guards that rarely turns it over and always seems to make the right play.
2017 PG Luis Armando of Sagemont High has really good length and has been very good for E1T1 when out in transition. He does a good job of getting in the paint and creates for the impressive post players on the team. His recruitment is starting to see high major programs jumping on board.
Combo Guards and Wings
2017 Amori Archibald of Trinity Christian Academy burst on the scene in a big way this past weekend at the Nike Memorial Day Classic. The 6’3” guard scored at will all weekend and has a really good feel for the game. He was able to knock down shots with consistency and did an excellent job of finishing plays.
2017 Shaun Wade of Trinity Christian Catholic is known for his skills in football as he is an Ohio State commit, but he has proven all summer he is a force on the basketball court as well. Wade has a solid handle and can both score and facilitate. He comes off the bench for this loaded team, but is always fun to watch.
2017 Tyler Polly of Sagemont High is one of my favorite players to watch on this team. At 6’7” he is a very effective wing that can score in bunches. Polly is really skilled at attacking the basket and has the size and athleticism to finish around the rim. He is more than a driver as he is able to knock down the outside shot, as well as the mid-range pull up.
Forwards and Centers
We got our first look at 2018 F Emmitt Williams of Lehigh Acres High and we were very impressed. The athletic forward had people using the term “pogo stick” all weekend. He is explosive off the floor and he rebounds everything in his area. Williams plays with the confidence of someone much older. He is a prospect for all high majors to keep an eye on in the future.
2017 Victor Enoh of Greenforest Christian Academy has the versatility and athleticism to be a matchup nightmare. He has great hands and is a beast in the high post. Enoh gets to the rim and finishes at a high level, but his motor is what impresses us each time we see him. He plays with physicality, but has some finesse to his game as well.
2018 PF Silvio De Sousa of Montverde Academy plays like a man amongst boys, and remember he is playing up in the 16u division. We were impressed that each time he caught the ball on the low block, he made quick, strong, and physical moves that were always at the basket and never fading away. He will be on several high major coaches’ radar very soon.
