Here is a player recap from Ron Freeman of Superior Athletes, a new team on the scene this year that made a lot of noise. They will feature one of the best backcourts in the Country next year. Ron significantly raised his recruiting stock this circuit and here is what he had to say about his experience.
Ron: The best games I played in AAU were against Danny Granger Elite & Team Portland. Those games really proved to college coaches & myself that I could play at the next level. I dominated and I started to get recognition from writers and scouts.
Recruiting picked up when I started to pick up. I asked my self during spring why I didn't have offers and I thought to myself let me watch film of my games. I started to watch all the things I was doing wrong and when I realized what I was doing, I went in the lab and experimented on my game. July came after everything I was cooking up started to serve so that's how recruitment picked up. The colleges I like right now are Utah St, UTEP, Grand Canyon, LMU, and Cal State Fullerton.
The experience was unforgettable I am just thankful and blessed to earn these scholarships. I was in the pressure cooker in July so I had to cook up a storm during the evaluation period. Thanks to SABC and coach Jon for always staying on me to become a dominate player. Also for letting me play with them & also giving me the confidence to become a D1 player. Don Small told me "If you take care business in the classroom it will take care of you on the court". That stuck with me heavy during the viewing period and made me build a high motor that will continue to stick with me throughout my entire career.
