2013-2014  storylines & news

1. Last week , LA Times Eric Sondheimer reported standout senior PG Parker Jackson-Cartwright withdrew from Loyola HS, after admitting to academic mis-conduct. Jackson-Cartwright has transferred to Sierra Canyon to fulfill academic requirements to graduate and attend University of Arizona in the fall.

2. Oklahoma State was hit hard with a major decommitment  last Thursday as junior, Austin Grandstaff  (Rockwall HS, TX) opted to reopen his recruitment.

3.  For those who fancy basketball cinema. Here are three documentary titles that might peak your interest.

- Inner City Champions, Chronicles the story of LA basketball legends Dwayne Polee and Freeman Williams of Manuel Arts HS.

- On The Shoulders of Giants, A history of the New York Renaissance (Harlem Rens) a basketball squad that made it's mark in the 1950's and beat many of the professional teams of the era. Produced by Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

- Lenny Cooke, Follows journey of one of most heralded players in NYC, who failed to materialize. Featuring Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire.

4. Findlay Prep SG Rashad Vaughn committed to UNLV over ISU and Kentucky.

5. ESPN TOP  50 players  # 2  Myles Turner (Trinity HS, TX) and  # 41 JaQuan Lyle ( Huntington Prep, IN) remain uncommitted,  looking at a number of high level programs and most likely will commit in spring.

6. Word is, #1 player of 2016, Thon Maker (Carlisle HS, VA) may be looking to transfer to a higher level  program for his junior and senior campaign. Stay Tuned.

7. St. John's Prep (DC) 21-1, looks to cap off a memorable season, not before a show down with WCAC league foe DeMatha Feb 19th.
