Semi Finals:
Game 23: Bishop Gorman 57, West Linn 49
West Linn got out to a red-hot start behind 21 first half points from Payton Pritchard. The Lions led by 15 at the end of the first half 29-14 large in part to 7 first half 3’s. Bishop Gorman weathered the storm and mounted a come back winning the second half 43-20 as West Linn fell 57-49 on Sunday night. Prichard led all scorers with 24 points (6-10 3pt) and Anthony Mathis added 14 for the Lions. Bishop Gorman had a trio of players in double figures: Noah Robotham had a team-high 16 points while Obim Okeke scored 15 and blue chip big man Stephen Zimmerman finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds. The game was a tale of two halves and West Linn couldn’t maintain their hot shooting as they were 6-25 (24%) from the field in the second half. West Linn was also out rebounded 41-26 by the much bigger Bishop Gorman squad. West Linn will play Whitney Young tomorrow night in the 3rd place game.
Game 24: Rainier Beach 89, Whitney Young 82
David Crisp scored a game-high 33 points (11-18 FG, 7-14 3pt) and Shaqquan Aaron added 20 points to help boost Rainier Beach over Whitney Young. Rainier Beach got out to a hot start scoring 25 points in the opening quarter. Whitney Young won the second quarter 24-14 and took a 45-39 lead in to the half. Duke bound Jahlil Okafor, the nations top recruit, led Whitney Young with 28 points and 13 rebounds and Paul White had 26 points and 8 rebounds in a losing effort. Whitney Young dominated down low scoring 50 points in the paint and converting 19-32 of their free throws accounting for 69 of their 82 points. Rainier Beach’s offense was just too much to handle as they shot 31-51 (60.8%) for the game including 14-25 (56%) from three. Rainier Beach will advance to play Bishop Gorman in the finals on Monday night. Whitney Young will face West Linn in the 3rd place game.
