Game 13: Bishop Gorman 51, Jesuit 36BOX SCORE

Chase Jeter scored 14 points to lead bishop Gorman to a 51-36 win over Jesuit in the first game of the evening session. Gorman jumped out to a hot start and led 19-10 at the end of the first quarter. Jesuit scored just 4 points in the second quarter and was down 31-14 at the half. The Crusaders made a late push but the game was never really in question. Jack Nadelhoffer led Jesuit with 10 points on 3-12 shooting. Jesuit shot 12-42 for the game (28.6%) while Gorman shot 20-38 (52.6%). Bishop Gorman will play against West Linn tomorrow night in the semi-finals.

Game 14: West Linn 58, Tigard 44 Box Score

Anthony Mathis led all scorers with 19 points, large in part to making all ten of his free throws as West Linn rolled passed Tigard 58-44. Payton Pritchard finished with 12 points, 6 assists, and 8 turnovers. CJ Sitton came off the bench for West Linn and hit two big three pointers at crucial points in the game. Joel Johnson’s 13 points led Tigard while Bryan Berg scored 11 and Elijah Simon scored 12. West Linn will play against Bishop Gorman tomorrow night.

Game 15: Whitney Young 89, Churchill 80 Box Score

Churchill gave nationally ranked Whitney Young all they could handle but the inside presence of Jahlil Okafor and Paul White were too much for overcome. Okafor, the nations top recruit finished with 40 points and 16 rebounds while Paul White had 28 points and 7 rebounds. For the game, Whitney Young had 54 points in the paint and made 22 free throws to account for 76 of their 89 points. They were 1-3 from the free throw line. Churchill decided to push the pace all game. Deshone Brooks led the Lancers with 32 points (11-18 FG, 7-13 3pt). Churchill made 13 of their 39 three point attempts and gave Whitney Young fits. Malik Morgan and Andrew Smith were both huge for Churchill as well scoring 16 points each. Whitney Young will play in the semi-finals tomorrow against Rainier Beach.

Game 16: Rainier Beach 90, Jefferson 72 Box Score

Jefferson fell down 24-8 as Rainier Beach’s pressure defense frustrated the Demos early. That all changed when Silas Melson got hot for the Demos in the second quarter as Jeff won the quarter 28-23 and went in to half down 47-36. Jefferson’s Kadeem Strickland hit a 65-foot fade away heave at the buzzer to help chip away at the lead.  In the end, Shaqquan Aaron’s 22 points led five Rainier Beach players in double-digits. Aaron made an array of shots and crushed several dunks. Melson finished the game with 32 points and Devaunte Paschal scored 21 for the Demos. Jefferson got as close as three late in the game before Rainier Beach closed out the game. Grayson Smallwood came off the bench to ignite Jefferson with several blocks and dunks and gave them an inside presence they lacked early. For the game Jefferson got out-rebounded 40-32. Rainier Beach will play Whitney Young tomorrow night in the semi-final game at 9:00pm. Jefferson will play Churchill in a rematch of last years state 5A final tomorrow night at 6:00pm.
