29Game 9: Timberline 55, Beaverton 44
Donaven Dorsey led all scorers with 26 points and added 8 rebounds to lead Timberline (3-4) over Beaverton in the 9:00am game Saturday morning. Beaverton lead 24-20 at the half before Timberline won the third quarter 17-7 and get some separation. Beaverton (2-4) had no answer with Dorsey and struggled on the offenseive end. No player for Beaverton scored in double-digits. Sam Parker came off the bench to hit three 3’s for the Beavers and had a team-high 9 points.
Game 10: Central Catholic 62, South Eugene 51
Xavier Hallinan led Central Catholic with 17 points and Cole Stringer added 14 points to lead the Rams past South Eugene early Saturdays morning. Eli Lininger’s 24 points and 10 rebounds weren’t enough for South Eugene. Lininger, who is committed to Yale, hit 11-16 shots from the field. Central Catholic out-rebounded South Eugene 29-22 and shot 53.7% from the field in the win. The Rams got out to a hot start going up 16-5 at the end of the first quarter in route to a 40-26 half time lead. South Eugene made a push out of the half winning the third quarter 15-7, but it wasn’t enough. Central Catholic will play Timberline tomorrow at 11:30am.
Game 11: Clackamas 68, Sunset 60
Keaton Bankofier lead four Clackamas players who scored double figures in a 68-60 win over Sunset Saturday morning. Clackamas (6-2) took a 31-28 lead in to the half. Clackamas survived going 0-6 from the 3-point line during the game to shoot 46% (23-50) for the game. Mitchell Fink scored 14 point and Raekwon Mingledoff and Macus Golder added 10 a piece for the Cavs. Sunset (2-5) was lead by Tyler Gutierrez who scored 28 points in the losing effort; Taylor Harris added 15 for the Apollos. Clackamas will face Grant at 1:00pm on Sunday.
Game 12: Grant 66, Lake Oswego 60
Grant survived a 35-point scoring barrage from Lake Oswego point guard Jazz Johnson who had 26 second half points. Grant led 21-11 after the first quarter and took a 16-point lead in to the half (38-22). Alondre Augustus scored 18 points to lead Grant and Dylan Leonard scored 13 points, filling up the stat sheet to help the Generals bounce back from last night’s loss to Rainier Beach. Deiondre Bird was held in check by Lake Oswego scoring 5 points and adding 7 rebounds. Grant will play against Clackamas at 1:00pm on Sunday.
