2016 was another great year for AAU Basketball. The Indihoops staff got together and gave out our annual 2016 Indihoops awards.

Coach of the Year: Rodney Perry (Mokan Elite)

Lead the team to a Peach Jam title

Top overall High School program- Team CP3 (15u-17u)

15u, 16u, and 17U were ranked nationally throughout the year. All three levels ended the year ranked. 15u and 17u both ending the season ranked in the top 10.

Game of the year- We R 1 vs Indy Hoosiers

Triple OT thriller in the first round of the UAA finals. Very exciting game from start to finish. Every possession mattered in this game. The game ended on a layup by Tyrese Martin in triple OT, which was sudden death.

Event of the year: Peach Jam

Peach Jam every year is a very competitive event having the best 24 teams in the Nike EYBL compete to prove who’s the best team in the league. This year Mokan Elite came out victorious. They were led by Michael Porter Jr. and Trae Young

Play of the year: Blake Harris

Blake Harris dunks all over the defender. Meeting at the rim, Blake brings the ball back and puts it down with a lot of power.

Best new event: Indihoops tip of classic

Indihoops Tip-off was a perfect start for most teams to get a look at what they had going into the live period. Most teams that competed in this event went on to have successful seasons and performed well the following week during the first live period in April.
