After starting the tournament with nothing but blowouts, the games have tightened up as the tournament has progressed. The Thunderstruck Knightriders vs. 3WYA Canada saw the first overtime game of the tournament with Thunderstruck coming away with the victory. Thunderstruck outscored 3WYA Canada 7-3 in the overtime period to come away with a 67-63 win.
Led by Rodderick Henry who finished the game with a 14 point, 12 rebound double-double, Thunder Struck was able to pull away in the overtime period. Ethan M. Harris of 3WYA Canada was the leading scorer of the game with 19 points but Thunder Struck’s well-balanced team that saw four players score in double figures was too much for 3WYA.
With 11 ties and 11 lead changes, this game was one of the most competitive in the tournament thus far.
After shooting 14.3 percent from the field in the overtime period, it’s no wonder that 3WYA wasn’t able to pull out the win.
