Led by KJ Adams, the ATX Knights were one of the most exciting teams of the 2017 Indi World Championships. The Knights started off the tournament with a dominant 72-40 win against the Up and Under. In that game, Adams finished with 15 points and seven rebounds to help them advance to the next round. In the next round, Adams was once again a star, scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds, leading to an upset win over Florida Future. The Knights narrowly advanced after Florida Future missed out on three free throw opportunities with the chance to win the game.
After two impressive wins, the Knights fell back to earth with a 65-33 loss to the eventually champions, Vegas Elite. After building a 20-point lead in the first half, Vegas Elite never looked back, outscoring the Knights 22-10 in the second half. However, despite the loss, the Knights rebounded with a 70-67 victory against Caron Butler Elite. KJ Adams finished with 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 assists but was however plagued by turnovers, finishing with eight.
The Knights would go onto lose their final two games of the event, including a buzzer-beating loss against the New York Dragons when the Dragons hit a three at the buzzer to win the game.
Despite losing their last couple games at the 2017 Indi World Championships, the ATX Knights were a surprising team in this year's tournament with two wins that proved they were one of the best teams.
