Had a chance to catch up with Juwan Anderson of the Oakland Rebels.  Juwan ran the Point Guard for the Rebels team that won back to back Double Pump tournament championships.  The Rebels in our Indihoops National AAU/Club rankings finished the year in the honorable mention 16u.  Juwan is a smooth, under control guard that can dictate the pace of the game whether you want to play fast or slow.

If you are unfamilar with guards from the Oakland Rebels program, just ask the NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard who was groomed in the Oakland based program.

Juwan plays High School ball for the great Bishop O'Dowd program.

Here is what Juwan said about his 2013 High School AAU Basketball Season.

Juwan Anderson:

The best game I played in this summer was the game aganist Utah Pump N Run Elite. It was our first pool game and we came down to LA with only 6 players. Nobody knew anything about us, but we knew we had the talent to beat anyone in the country. We started the game on 7-2 run and from there we didn't look back. We went up by 25 but ended up only winning the game by 7 to a great team.

The whole crowd was shock because they thought it was going to be an easy win for Utah Pump N Run, but we proved them wrong. The best team I played aganist all summer was Indiana Elite. They had the whole package, their bigs could bang down low and had shooters all over the court. After winning both Double Pump tournaments my recruitment went through the roof. A lot of coaches told me they wanted too recruit me and a few of them offered me.

I don't have any particular favorites right now because I have a couple more years too decide. The whole experience with the Oakland Rebels was a blessing that many kids do not have the chance to get. The coaches on the Oakland Rebels taught us more than basketball, they taught us how too become men.  I really appreciate Jarrell and the whole IndiHoops for giving us an chance to show our talents.
