With more live period games kicking off across the country there are a few matchups that you won't want to miss if you find yourself in Indiana, Atlanta or Pittburgh this weekend.
EYBL
Team Final (3-0) v. Team Penny (2-1) Friday 9:30 pm
Top Players: PJ Washington (Team Penny), Khalil Garland (Team Penny), Lonnie Walker (Team Final), Cameron Reddish (Team Final)
Everyone will be watching the matchup between the physical 6'8 big man PJ Washington and the agile forward Cameron Reddish. Team Penny is always competitive in the circuit and this year is no different. Khalil Garland and Lonnie Walker will be an interesting matchup as well with both players having explosive scoring ability from inside and out. Team Penny defeated Arkansas Wings Handily while Team Final escaped the same opponent narrowly in their first game. However, Team Final has yet to lose a game so it will be interested to see if Team Penny can hand them their first loss in their division.
Mokan Elite (3-0) v. PSA Cardinals (3-0) Saturday 8:00 pm
Top Players: Quade Green (PSA Cardinals), Mohamed Bamba (PSA Cardinals), Brandon Randolph (PSA Cardinals), Trae Young (Moka Elite), Michael Porter Jr. (Moka Elite)
When two of the top scorers in the league in Young and Porter Jr. meet session 1's MVP in Quade Green, you can expect a nice turnout. There is a chance neither team will be undefeated by the time they meet on Saturday but that won't affect the impact of this matchup. Expect both teams to get up and down, especially Moka Elite who puts up over 50 three pointers on average a game. PSA is more methodical in it's approach with Green picking apart defenses with his precision passing, so it will be interesting to see whose playing style will translate into a victory.
Adidas Uprising
Upward Stars (4-0) v. Mass Rivals (4-0) Saturday 1:20 p.m.
The Upward Stars have a very balanced scoring attack with the trio of Tariq Simmons, Vincent Cole and A.J. Oliver. Look for them to shoot a high percentage and put up a lot of threes with their up and down play. Mass Rivals relies heavily on 5'11 guard Azar Swain's 17 points and 5 rebounds to roll pass their first 4 opponents. Swain attacks the paint well and can know down the open jumper. He will need help from 6'7 big man Aaron Wheeler and shooting guard Makai Langford to get the victory.
Under Armour Association
Team Charlotte (4-0) v. New Heights (3-1) Saturday 4:45 p.m.
Tyshon Alexander is averaging 13 points and 4 rebounds over his first 4 and will look to continue his impressive play in Indiana. He attacks well off the bounce and is creative in the air while finishing against defenders. He can run the point and off guard position. He will be relied on not only to score but to contain stellar guard Isiah Washington who is also averaging 13 points behind his running mate, Keith Williams. New Heights has the scoring to beat anyone on the circuit and they are holding their opponents to 60 points on average. Team Charlotte puts up 71 a game so New Heights will need to limit their opponent's attempts and clean up the boards if they hope to prevail.
