Nico Mannion was a name that those familiar with West Coast basketball knew well for the past couple years, but after the EBC Arizona event he became a name that is known nationwide. The Class of 2020 floor general used the Elite Basketball Circuit's stop in Phoenix as a springboard and he hasn't looked back since dominating the January camp. Mannion was a force during the two day camp side of the event and then led his AAU team to the title in the EBC Invitational Tournament the next day.
Mannion is a smart point guard who understands pace, passing angles, and plays the game on a level that is well above that of his competition. At the EBC event Nico was unstoppable off the dribble using a combination of hesitation moves to keep his defenders on their heels. When you combine his decision making with his athletic abilities, you get a big time prospect who could easily be in the Top 20 rankings for the Class of 2020 when they are finalized.
The Elite Basketball Circuit helped to put Nico Mannion on the map, but once he stepped into the spotlight he didn't stop working. He followed up his performance at the EBC with several big time showings at national camps that kept his name in the news. If you hadn't heard of Nico Mannion before this Spring you wouldn't be alone, but now that he's become a national name don't expect him to make any less noise.
