FAST Basketball 16 and under team had a great season on the AAU circuit lead by head coach Terry Pritchard. They presented one of the best backcourt duos in the country in West Linn sophomore point guard Payton Pritchard and West Linn junior shooting guard Anthony Mathis.

They played the best teams in the country at the 16 and under level and finished with an impressive 23-8 record. They won two tournaments, the NW Premier Showcase in Seattle to start off their season and the Adidas Spring Classic in Indiana. They also lost in the finals of a the Spring Fling Tournament in New Jersey which qualified them to go to the Nike Peach Jam, Nike’s most prestigious tournament that teams must qualify to participate in.

The highlight wins of the summer included beating Team Scan in the Peach Jam, Beating Boo Williams and Houston Hoops New Jersey, and finishing the summer beating two of the top teams out of California in CP3 and California Supreme. Here is a breakdown of their win loss record by tournament:

5-1 - NW Premier Showcase in Seattle * Tournament Champions

6-1 – Playaz Spring Fling April 19-21 in New Jersey * Lost in finals

5-0 – Adidas Spring Classic April 26-28 in Indiana * Tournament Champions

1-4 – Nike Peach Jam July 9-14

5-1 – Las Vegas Live event July 17-21 in Nevada * Won pool – lost in quarter finals

6-2 – Las Vegas Classic July 24-28 in Nevada * Lost in semi-finals

Overall Fast finished an impressive 23-8 for the AAU season.

They are an undersized team that plays fast and relies heavily on their guard play. Pritchard and Mathis rival any backcourt on the AAU circuit. Both of them had multiple 30+ point performances this year. Eli Lininger provided a solid inside presence guarding bigger guys and rebounding. Ryan Bay provided a lot of energy with defense and rebounding.

FAST had a great year and the best part about their team is their youth. They will be back next year stronger than ever with their whole team ready to take on the 17 and under open circuit. The core of their team has been together for a very long time and they put in a lot of time in the gym together. They have set the stage very well for future success.
