IndiHoops Certified Event

An IndiHoops Certified Event lives under the following guidelines for the 2017 edition.
Standard Verbiage
Middle School Event
- 14u = 8th Grade and Below (Graduates High School in 2021)
- 13u = 7th Grade and Below (Graduates High School in 2022)
- 12u = 6th Grade and Below (Graduates High School in 2023)
Elementary School Event
- 11U = 5th Grade and Below (Graduates High School in 2024)
- 10U = 4th Grade and Below (Graduates High School in 2025)
- 9U = 3rd Grade and Below (Graduates High School in 2026)
- 8u - IndiHoops does not encourage event operators to run these divisions for competitive basketball.
Rule 1. No Double Holdbacks
1a. 2017 Double Holdback Classification
- 14U or Class of 2021 - Older Than 16 Before September 1, 2017
- 13U or Class of 2022 - Older Than 15 Before September 1, 2017
- 12U or Class of 2022 - Older Than 14 Before September 1, 2017
- 11U or Class of 2022 - Older Than 13 Before September 1, 2017
1b. So on and so forth.
Rule 2. No High School Players
2a. A player who has gone to school as a 9th grader 1 day of the first semester of 2016-2017 IndiHoops Calendar Year is ineligible to play in any 14u events or below.
Rule 3. Basketball Size
3a. Boys middle school club teams play with a regulation size basketball (29.5)
3b. Girls middle school events teams play with a (28.5)
3c. Boys elementary school club divisions play with a 28.5 ball unless both teams agree to use a standard size ball. If one wants to play with 29.5 ball and one wants 28.5 ball, 28.5 ball will be used.3d.
Girls elementary school club divisions play with a 28.5 basketball.
Rule 4. Fly In Rule
4a.
In IndiHoops certified events, teams who have a player that clearly can not practice with the team on a regular basis due to distance (outside the city and city limits by over 150 miles) will not be eligible for our 14u rankings.
IndiHoops Certified Event Notes:
- IndiHoops certified events have a higher potential for voters of our rankings panel to see and rank your results of the event.
- We encourage these events to our use our registration system and post events in our tournament directory for maximum organization and promotion. They must at least be a BASIC event operator member.
- IndiHoops certified events wants COMMITTED and ORGANIZED club basketball programs. We strive to get payments before tournament in timely manner, so that the schedule can come out at least one week before the event.
- Any teams who abuse the rules and are difficult with event registration fee process, this information can be used within our network to protect future operators.
- We encourage tournament operators to use EXPOSURE as they can display their schedule on IndiHoops.com and helps make the event more organized with better communication.
