The Mass Commanders AAU program is about development and learning the game at a “high school prep” level. As an organization we strive to better our players’ chances to continue on with their athletic desires at higher levels of play. We are a MetroWest Mass based AAU program. Most of our players are multi-sport student athletes, but we manage to make it all work. In the spring season, we will practice from the end of February until mid June, playing in 6+ tournaments. The fall season teams will practice from September until mid November playing in 4+ tournaments. Individual teams can participate in more tournaments if the players and their families decide to do so. Extra tournaments will require additional fees. Our program is directly related to Reclaiming The Game, Inc. Reclaiming The Game, Inc. is a basketball skills training company affiliated with John Lucas Enterprises. Reclaiming The Game, Inc. holds clinics, individual skills development, small group training, and team training. For additional about Reclaiming The Game, Inc. contact Rudy Crichlow, Jr. Game time philosophy: Each player will use practice time to earn minutes. Distribution of playing time will be fair but not even and distributed according to live game decisions. Each individual team will develop its own philosophy that will be discussed prior to the start of the spring season. Practice philosophy: Each player will practice on a 2/1/1 schedule. For example, one team will have 2 practices 1 week, and then 1 practice for the next 2 weeks. Each practice will be 1.5 hours, and 50 to 60 percent of each practice will be spent on individual skills improvement. Players will be treated as athletes, not position players. Each player will work on fundamentals as well as advanced skills.
