The nonprofit, all-volunteer NH Skyhawks Basketball Club is a 501(c)3 organization servings boys and girls in the small towns of the Pawtuckaway region near the seacoast of New Hampshire. The program was formed to encourage and equip young athletes in these rural communities who face the challenges resulting from a small populace and lack of easy access to facilities. We offer skill-building sessions to local towns through community recreation departments, host off-season clinics, and field our own travel teams. Our mission is to help beginning players and those involved in foundational recreational programs gain the skills and confidence necessary to make the transition to the more competitive worlds of AAU and school ball. Our coaching philosophy focuses on a teaching approach where players refine individual skills, learn to believe in their teammates, follow the discipline of sportsmanship, and grow as players through fun competition. Our dream is to construct a state-of-the-art, all-season facility of our own, eliminating the constant, desperate quest for available gym time. Our experienced coaches are certified members of the Amateur Athletic Union, National Youth Sports Coaches Association, and CoachSmartNH, and they remain active locally with recreational, AAU, and travel teams. Although we’re based in Nottingham, we utilize facilities wherever they become available. If you know of a gym in the region with available time slots, we’d love to hear from you.
