The NJ Cardinals were founded by Samuel Cosby.During the 15th year existence, the Cardinals have garnered much recognition thoughout NJ , as well as out of the state as one of the best AAU organizations. We have a great coaching staff that is dedicated to teaching and developing players. In the first year of existence the program had only one team of 15&U. This year the program has expanded and now has a 11u ,14u and 17U. The Cardinals are lead by Sam Cosby, who was a 2 sport (Basketball & Football) player at Division II ST. Pauls College in Lawrenceville, VA. Coach Cosby made his mark in the CIAA Record books forever: Div. II All-American,2 Time All-CIAA Selection, All-Time Total Yards Leader, Touchdown Passing Leader (76) and Total Yardage Leader(14,000 yards). He knows what it takes to play at a high level and teaches it to the players within the organization. In 2005, the NJ Cardinals 11U made it to the semifinals of the American Youth Basketball (AYB) Tour Nationals but fell two points shy of advancing. With a 11-0 Record in 2006, The New Cardinals 12u won the AYB Tour National Championship in Williamsport, Pa. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, The NJ Cardinals competed at the AAU Nationals in Orlando, Fl. In 2009 and 2011, the NJ Cardinals placed 4th in the NJ AAU State Tournament and earn a automatic bid to compete for a National Championship in Orlando , Fl. Over the past few years, the NJ Cardinals have had a multitude of players do great things athletically and academically. The NJ Cardinals have had 3 players earn ALL-State Honors in Basketball: Mika Wilson (Cardinal McCarrick HS '03) , Jaquan Preayer (Bound Brook HS '11), Lance Rivera (Bound Brook HS '11). The NJ Cardinals have earned a good reputation with college coaches all over the East Coast and would like to continue to give players a place to live out there dreams by playing basketball above and beyond High School. With the support of dedicated players, fans and parents this organization has become one of the best programs on the rise
