The Prince William H.O.Y.A.S AAU basketball program mission is to serve our community through sports by providing, community awareness and service, focus on academic achievement, a fundamentally sound basketball program and a great experience for players, parents and coaches. The program works to develop and positively reinforce a love of the game, developing character in our participants and embracing community partnerships. Through, "Hustle, Discipline and Defense" our participants grow as players, individuals, and as members of our community, by quickly serving the needs of our community in a structured manner. This program strives to encourage healthy competition with integrity, passion and respect for others while maintaining a strong educational foundation to Help Our Youth Achieve Success. Who we Are In the spring of 2010, Scott T. Riggins prayerfully decided to pursue a dream of starting a basketball program that would offer more opportunities for competitive basketball in our community and surrounding areas of Northern Virginia. Although we understood there were a couple of choices for boys in the area, there still appeared to be a need for a program that would take a holistic approach in developing "great" young community leaders, as well as, "great" student athletes. Strategically, the program design is to build an "Elite" program that will include quality coaches and trainers who have various experiences at the collegiate and high school level.
This program design represents a "paradigm" shift to bridge gaps between AAU and high school ball, which ultimately should improve player performance. The community service component of our program will serve as a model for our young people to properly understand "Supporting the Community That Supports Us” It is our intention to have EVERY program participant (3 year minumum) attend college on some type of academic or athletic scholarship, whether partial or full. This shared philosophy has resulted in our representation of Northern Virginia as the Prince William HOYAS
