Illinois Game Time is a non-profit 501 (c) AAU Basketball Organization that was founded by former NFL Defensive Back Anthony Parker in 2016.
Anthony Parker has a deep rooted passion for basketball stemming from his earlier days of playing in the streets, which led to participation in AAU tournaments against the cities’ best players in Denver, Colorado.
The early onset of his interests allowed Anthony to fulsomely experience the peaks and valleys of basketball realities and gain insight into the challenges faced by young players and enthusiasts. Notably, a lot has gone into the improvement of the sport and the efforts to address all the challenges but there is still much to be desired.
Years after his amateur days had long passed and his passion transferred to his children, Anthony and his wife realized that they were having great difficulty finding an ideal travel basketball program for their son and daughter. Instead of the proficient, coherent and exceptional systems of training being sought after, they found that many programs lacked organization, consistency in coaching and they were left disappointed from the unmet expectations. He knew from his own experiences that if left unchecked this was a recipe for disaster for young student-athletes.
This motivated Anthony Parker to create the Illinois Game Time, an AAU organization focused on preparing student-athletes for superior competition through hard work and dedication to excellence in the classroom, on the court and off the court. The mission is to steer players closer to the actualization of their fullest potential and opening them up to the golden opportunity of earning a college basketball scholarship.
