The Georgia Kings Sports Foundation is a leading amateur youth sports organization. We provide kids in the greater Marietta (East Cobb) community an opportunity to improve their skill level, develop self-confidence and exhibit leadership through participation on a team in a highly competitive program with emphasis on academics and community service.
The Marietta Kings Basketball organization was founded in March 2005 in the East Cobb area of Marietta, Georgia. Our goal at that time was to provide kids in our neighborhood an opportunity to participate in organized basketball at a highly competitive level with equal focus on academics and community service. We remain committed to that goal today.
After starting with just one (1) 11U/6th Grade team seven (7) years ago, the organization now serves more than 140 kids participating on ten (10) boys’ teams in the 10 – 17 year old age groups.
As a result of our growth, in March 2008 we officially became the Georgia Kings Sports Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. One of the primary reasons for our growth and success is our commitment to academics. We recognize that a good education will help all kids build a solid foundation and prepare them for life. We are proud that individual Georgia Kings players and teams have received national recognition for academics by the Youth Basketball of America (YBOA) each year since the organization was founded.
Georgia Kings Basketball teams compete in both AAU and YBOA sanctioned tournaments. Several teams routinely finish in the Top 10 in the state and qualify for the national tournament. We are proud to provide a platform for so many kids to improve their basketball skill level and develop as individuals.
