Harris Educational Sports Enterprise originated in Decatur, Georgia in 2010. Mr. Jed Harris, founder and coach, recognized the need for additional opportunities in the community for young males. An avid basketball fan, Mr. Harris began volunteering with various organizations as a coach throughout metro Atlanta. During his tenure in the sport, he noticed that many young men wanted to be involved in competitive basketball, but not all had the showcase skills that teams wanted. He realized that many teams were interested in play ready talent and not athletes who required more skill development. Hoping to fill that void, he created his own competitive team. With the assistance of family and friends, Mr. Harris, or “Jed” was blessed with his first 16u AAU team in 2012. He coached these young men until they graduated high school, and is now watching from the sidelines of their respective colleges. Because of Coach Harris’ willingness to “teach” and a dedicated staff, Harris Educational Sports Enterprise is a growing testimony that any and everything is possible. As he continues to expand, the principles of faith, character, hard work and honesty will remain as the pillars of his foundation.
