Boise FLITE Basketball is a student-oriented basketball program that serves youth in grades 9-12. Established in 1993 by Loren Schwarzhoff—Boise State University Director of Basketball Operations (1999-2002)—Boise FLITE uses the basketball experience as a foundation to build academic, civic, and leadership skills. Boise FLITE strives to enhance the overall development of the student-athlete. Additionally, Boise FLITE understands the value of athletics in the overall development of youth and uses the game as a vehicle for teaching life's rules and valuable lessons on and off the court. Currently Boise FLITE is helping more than 24 students prepare athletically and academically to compete for college scholarships. The goal of Boise FLITE is to help these young men earn scholarships by providing basketball tutelage and, more importantly, the educational firepower to succeed. The main objective of Boise FLITE Basketball is to bring maximum exposure to high school athletes, making it possible for players to be seen by the widest possible audience of colleges and universities, thus bringing scholarships to athletes who, otherwise, would not go on to play college ball. We believe that basketball can provide a solid foundation for life.
