The organization, I-5 Elite, was founded in March 2007 by Ime Udoka (San Antonio Spurs – Assistant Coach), Kumbeno Memory (Head Coach) and Kendrick Williams (Scout). I-5 Elite is based out of Portland, Oregon and is a boys AAU basketball team, which travels nationally to participate in recruiting tournaments. These recruiting tournaments are viewed by college coaches at each level (NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA & JUCO) from around the nation. Development is a primary concern with the I-5 Elite program. There is a high emphasis on development both individually and as a team. I-5 Elite players have mandatory practices 3 times per week and also optional training sessions weekly.
Our program will cover everything from ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, conditioning to basketball IQ with each player. Our primary objective will be to teach each player to play the game the “right way”! The time spent on development corresponds directly to how the team and each individual will perform at the recruiting tournaments. In our five years as a program we’ve sent over 50 players to college on full-ride scholarships, 28 of them at the Division 1 level! Our primary concern is to make sure each player develops; increase’s his recruitment and ultimately signs a letter of intent to play college basketball & receive a college education!
