D-BLOCK HOOPS is a competitive AAU basketball team located in Bellingham Washington. D-BLOCK was formed by parent and Coach Reggie Powell in 2006. D-BLOCK competitive basketball team was formed around three talented basketball players who wanted to make basketball a huge part of their life. Damek Mitchell, Darious Powell and Devante Powell formed a 3on3 streetball traveling team...AKA...D-BLOCK! Their 3on3 team became very successful over the past 5 years in various tournaments throughout the PNW. In 2010, Coach Reggie decided he would set out for another challenge...he would expand from 3on3 street ball to AAU 5on5 and enter his 6th grade team in local leagues along with traveling for highly competitive tournaments. This was all new to him but he was up for the challenge! In 2011, Coach Reggie had formed a concrete AAU program in Whatcom County and continued coaching his then 7th grade team. In 2012, Coach Reggie's D-BLOCK program had defiantly made its mark here in Whatcom County so he decided to expand his program creating two teams. Reggie coached a 5th and 8th grade team. In 2013, Coach Reggie was having great success with his teams he decided to expand even more! 3 teams! 5th, 6th and High School!!! In 2014, Coach Reggie will be having tryouts for 5th, 6th, 7th, and possibly 8th grade!
